Getting Back to Your Health Routines After Summer

If you are any bit like me, you’ve let some of your healthy living habits slide with the vacations and social gatherings of summer.

Do not beat yourself up! These too are very important for our health. Studies show that human connection is so important for our overall health and longevity. Spending time with friends and loved ones, deepening connections, can only add life to our years and years to our life.

So, savor these summer weeks of fun drinks and snacks on your deck, days at the beach with chips and beer, family backyard dinners, and ice cream strolls with friends and family. These summer days are fleeting. (And walking on the beach IS exercise!)

Enjoy yourself and remember indulging occasionally is living a balanced life. Most importantly, it doesn’t mean you have or should throw your healthy lifestyle out the window for good! We can get back to our healthy exercise and food routines at summer’s end, knowing that we’ve replenished our energy stores and helped to reduce chronic stress.

For me, summer’s end came recently. I am back to teaching yoga a few times a week, leading twice weekly forest walks, doing Pilates with the free app Fit On, and refocusing on my health coaching business. For me, knowing others are counting on me, really helps motivate me. So, make a commitment to walk with a friend or meet at the gym!

Expect to see more regular blog posts to my website (inspirebyjillwellness.com) and on my FB page (Inspire. by Jill).

Enjoy~

This is where I am at. I am TRYING to get back into a routine! I don't have friends to walk or exercise with (although I wish I did!!). Have a great week, Jill!
