Three factors contribute most to inflammation: blood sugar spikes; poor quality of fats; and chemicals and toxins.

Sugar: all forms, even honey, fruit, and cane sugar.
Gluten: causes low-level chronic inflammation, digestive and cognitive symptoms, and leaky gut.
Refined carbs like flour: spike blood sugar, found in most baked goods, processed foods
Food additive & preservatives.
Artificial sweeteners: basically chemicals. Aspartame, acesulfame potassium, monosodium glutamate, and sucralose are all highly inflammatory and have a neurotoxic effect on the brain, and cause mood disorders and brain-related cancers.
Highly processed vegetable & seed oils: corn oil, canola oil, soybean oil, safflower oil, cottonseed oil, and peanut oil are all high in omega 6 fats which cause inflammation in excess.
Trans Fats (such as partially hydrogenated oil): not recognized as safe by the FDA. Highly inflammatory, may raise risk of high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease and strokes.
Processed meat: deli meat and cured meat are highly processed and full of hormones & additives Trigger an immune system response and inflammation.
Conventionally-raised meat and dairy: treated with high doses of hormones, antibiotics, and GMOs, are highly inflammatory.
Farm-raised fish and seafood: contain more inflammatory omega 6 fats, are higher in chemical exposure, a less quality protein than wild-caught.
